The participation of people with hearing disabilities in sport is testimonial and the opportunity to use the sport of people with disabilities in physical education is an opportunity to disseminate, raise awareness and promote its practice.
At this work evaluated the opinion of the educational sector and the hearing disability sports sector on the suitability of the didactic proposal of the “Inclusive Sports at School (DIE)” program.
To this end, an ad hoc online questionnaire was designed and sent to all sports clubs for people with hearing disabilities in Spain (in total, 56), as well as to all educational centers providing preferential care for hearing disabilities in the Community of Madrid. (in total, 29).
In the email sending, apart from instructions for completion, the DIE training proposal was attached, specifically the two sessions on “Sports for hearing disabilities” of said program.
After two weeks of sending and a reminder, 6 club coaches and 9 physical education teachers from educational centers finally responded.
Once the data has been collected and properly analyzed, the vast majority of participants have rated very positively both the suitability of the proposal and their personal evaluation of the proposal (3.46 ±0.65 out of 5) with an overall rating of 8. 62 out of 10.
We can say that the DIE Program and its action on people with hearing disabilities is valued very positively by sports coaches and physical education teachers, being a way to achieve sensitization and awareness for everyone.
